MHA Seeking People to Participate in Focus Groups on Tardive Dyskinesia

Mental Health America is looking for people interested in participating in focus groups for those of us who live with Tardive Dyskinesia, TD.

Participants will be paid $250 for the face to face groups and $200 for teleconference groups.

Tardive Dyskinesia is “a condition resulting in involuntary movements of the face, torso, or limbs.  TD usually occurs in people who have had long-term exposure to anti-psychotic medications.”

This devastating neurological disorder can create major problems for our quality of life. These two hour focus groups will discuss the challenges faced by people living with this condition, the effectiveness of treatment, and the type of treatment they receive.

Groups will be held in cities around the country. Please contact us if you are interested and we will provide you with information about the group nearest to you. For individuals who would like to participate but do not live in an area where we will be conducting a local group MHA will also conduct a series of teleconference groups. Contact us for the schedule.

Participants in the face to face groups will receive an honorarium of $250. Participants in the teleconference groups will receive a $200 honorarium.

To sign up for a group please contact Patrick Hendry at phendry@mentalhealthamerica.net.  Patrick will gather your contact information and ask a few questions to ensure that you qualify for the groups. You will then be contacted within a week to inform you about the groups available to you.
