Donor and Visitor Privacy Policy Statement

For each visitor to our Web page, our Web server automatically recognizes the consumer's domain name, the e-mail addresses of those who post messages to our bulletin board (if given), the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information, e-mail addresses and/or site registrations. We automatically collect only the domain name. If you provide us with your email or postal address, we will contact you unless you explicitly opt out by calling us, mailing us, or emailing us at info@mentalhealthamerica.net. Phone and address information are found in the footer.

If you do not want to receive e-mail or direct mail from us in the future, please let us know by writing to us at the address below or to info@mentalhealthamerica.net. If you supply us with your postal address online you may receive further communications from Mental Health America unless you explicitly opt out of those communications by contacting info@mentalhealthamerica.net. At this time, MHA only uses telephone numbers to contact you if there are issues with orders or mail. MHA does not sell or rent your information for commercial purposes.

The demographics and web analytics we collect are used for marketing purposes, internal review, used to improve the content of our Web page, but generally are not shared other organizations for commercial purposes. Our screening program does not collect IP addresses; we only have access to voluntarily provided demographic information.

Cookies: To help make our sites more responsive to the needs of our visitors, we invoke a standard feature found in browser software, called a "cookie", to assign each visitor a unique, random number, a sort of anonymous user ID that resides on your computer. The cookie doesn't actually identify the visitor, just the computer that a visitor uses to access our site. A cookie can't read data off your hard drive. We do not link cookie data with personally identifiable information, nor do we store personal information in our cookies. You can disable cookies at any time by changing the preferences in your browser.

For our internal purposes, we gather date, time, browser type, navigation history and IP address of all visitors to our site. This information does not contain anything that can identify users personally. We use this information for our internal security audit log, trend analysis and system administration, and to gather broad demographic information about our user base for aggregate use. In the screening results, IPs are hashed out in a way that cannot be traced back to the original IP (but still allows us to identify unique screeners).

Mental Health America treats donor information that is collected offline in the same manner as it treats information collected online. Please write, call or email us asking to be removed from our mailing list if you don't want any mail from us at info@mentalhealthamerica.net. Phone and address information are found in the footer. If you use the Contact Us form on the website, please include your physical address.

If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at our Web site periodically.

Upon request, we provide site visitors with access to contact information (e.g., name, address, phone number) that we maintain about them and users have the right to opt out of having their information collected. Consumers can do this by writing to us at the address below.
